The 25th anniversary marked a momentous occasion in this history of the Advisory Centre for Australian Education. To commemorate such a special milestone, a series of special activities were organised.
The first of these was a 25th Anniversary logo competition. The winning design has been widely used in all our celebration promotions such as our publication, shopping bag, commemorative T-shirts, as well as our website and letterheads.
Chinese and English essay competitions were also held. Many international students from high schools and universities alike sent in their essays. Our judges included renowned scholars, Professor Y.N. Chan; Dr. T.Tang, the Curator of Yiu Chung Yu Art Centre at University of HK; Mr. W.Ng, former chief editor of Australian Chinese Daily. Mr. Miles Mackenzie of ELS Universal English College, and Ms Denyse Gibbs, senior English tutor of ACAE.
Finally, the highlight of our festivities was a celebratory event held at Marigold Restaurant on 12th December 2013, welcoming close to 200 guests. Among the guests were current and past staff (including those from the early days of ACAE's founding), past students and parents, and representatives from our partner institutions.
The Managing Director of ACAE, Ms Ursula Ng gave a speech which covered topics of the origins of ACAE and its developments. ACAE was founded with the vision of providing international students with the best opportunities for study in Australia, focusing on their needs and providing them with the best chance of success.
We would be remiss in not acknowledging the tremendous efforts of ACAE's staff and our students in helping to organise a remarkable event. A special thank you to all of you!
The banquet celebrated ACAE's efforts as an industry pioneer and the success we have enjoyed over the last 25 years, built on placing our students first and our dedication to the institutions that have supported us over the years. We look forward to celebrating further successes over many years to come.
